Two exciting midweek clashes highlighted the Sky Bet League Two schedule, with Barnet snatching a late win at Accrington, while in-form Shrewsbury extended their winning streak to five matches with another determined comeback on the road.

Tshimanga Fires Late as Barnet Beat Accrington

Barnet ended a four-game winless run thanks to Kabongo Tshimanga’s composed finish in the 81st minute at the Wham Stadium. Idris Kanu lofted a ball over the top, and Tshimanga shrugged off the final defender before lifting the ball over goalkeeper Ollie Wright, marking his 10th goal of the season.

Barnet dominated a depleted Accrington side, who had only four outfield substitutes available. Early on, Tshimanga had a close-range goal ruled out for offside. Ryan Glover continually threatened, forcing Wright into a smart save from a free-kick and later hitting the crossbar. At the other end, Barnet keeper Cieran Slicker denied efforts from Charlie Brown and Seamus Conneely, keeping the hosts level at half-time.

The second half saw Barnet maintain control, with Callum Stead blocked from close range and Glover firing just wide. Wright also denied both Glover and Nnamdi Ofoborh. Barnet’s persistent pressure finally paid off, with Tshimanga’s late strike keeping their promotion push on track.

Shrewsbury Extend Run with Comeback at Salford

Shrewsbury Town continued their fine form as Will Boyle scored the winner in a 2–1 comeback against Salford, on a night when homegrown hero Joe Hart returned temporarily as goalkeeper coach.

Salford started well, with Ossama Ashley and Jorge Grant coming close before taking a stoppage-time lead. A mis-hit volley from Ryan Graydon was saved by Matthew Cox but deflected off Luca Hoole into the net for an unfortunate own goal.

Shrewsbury responded quickly after half-time. Six minutes into the second half, Tom Sang scored from the edge of the box after Josh Ruffels’s effort was cleared off the line.

Salford came close to retaking the lead, with Josh Austerfield hitting the bar with a header and Ben Woodburn having a volley cleared off the line. Shrewsbury capitalised on the misses, with Boyle scoring the decisive goal in the 76th minute, completing a resilient comeback.

Karl Robinson’s side, now beaten in five consecutive games, were left to rue missed chances on a frustrating night.
