Tottenham are keeping a close eye on the goalkeeping market as they plan to replace Guglielmo Vicario this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a summer of major squad changes, with the goalkeeper position being a top priority.
The club is seeking a replacement for Vicario, who has been Spurs’ No.1 since the start of the 2023/24 season. The Italian’s performances have been inconsistent, with several high-profile errors costing the team points. Despite this, he remains highly regarded in Italy, where clubs like Inter Milan and Juventus are reportedly interested in signing him.
Vicario himself is understood to be keen on returning to Serie A. For Tottenham, the challenge lies in finding an upgrade to the error-prone Italian in the summer transfer market.

Bryan King suggests Tottenham target Premier League-proven goalkeeper
With Vicario potentially leaving North London, Spurs are monitoring several options to strengthen their goalkeeping department. Sunderland’s Robin Roefs, who has impressed in his debut Premier League season, has caught Tottenham’s attention, while Manchester City’s highly-rated James Trafford is also on their radar.
Dean Henderson is another option, and former scout Bryan King believes the Crystal Palace captain could be the perfect replacement for Vicario.
“I would look at Dean Henderson at Crystal Palace,” King told Tottenham News.
“If Spurs remain in the Premier League, they could tempt him to join, but that’s a big if.
“Vicario would likely find the best move back in Italy. He started well under Ange Postecoglou and kept Tottenham in games, but now his mistakes are affecting the team and causing defensive instability.”

Dean Henderson would be a strong addition to Spurs
Henderson has established himself as one of the Premier League’s reliable goalkeepers and played a key role in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup triumph last season. His decision to leave Manchester United for Palace allowed him to gain regular playing time and build a strong reputation in England’s top flight.
At 28, Henderson has the experience and leadership to step into a ‘Big Six’ club like Tottenham. His presence would be an immediate upgrade over Vicario, potentially transforming Spurs’ defence if they manage to stay in the Premier League.
Ultimately, Tottenham will need to test Palace’s resolve for Henderson should Vicario depart in the summer.
